New to Online Auctions?Whether you bid with us or someone else, there are a few things you should know before bidding. First, review the buyer's premium. This is an additional percentage added to your winning bid. Most importantly, KNOW THE PICKUP REQUIREMENTS before you bid. Make sure you can attend pickup and have the manpower and supplies needed to remove your purchases. Shipping is available on qualifying items. We can SOMETIMES make special pickup arrangements for an additional fee, but this must be worked out BEFORE auction pickup begins. Have questions? Call us before bidding. We're happy to help.A max bid is the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item. You don't automatically pay your maximum. The system bids incrementally on your behalf, up to your maximum, as other bids are received. Our auctions also use a "soft close." Lots close individually, and if someone bids during the final two minutes, that lot remains open for another two minutes to allow a counterbid. Keep an eye on the lots you really want!THE COOK'S ESTATEThis one is for the cooks, collectors, cookbook people, vintage kitchen hunters, resellers, and anyone who believes the kitchen is the best room in the house. The culinary collection leads the auction with Le Creuset, copper cookware, vintage and specialty cookware, Italian pottery, espresso and coffee pieces, baking molds, pastry tools, barware, serving pieces, kitchen gadgets, and an extensive collection of culinary books.Look for Le Creuset cookware and bakeware, vintage and antique copper pieces, Giovanni De Simone Italian pottery, Rosenthal, Apilco, Bugatti, Alessi, Pyrex/Silex vacuum coffee makers, Fulton cold-water coffee equipment, vintage VEV Viganò espresso pieces, Mono Cafino, ravioli and pasta tools, vintage baking molds, pastry equipment, and unusual kitchen collectibles. The book collection deserves some serious browsing of its own. You'll find professional and collectible cookbooks covering French and Italian cuisine, pastry and baking, cheese, wine, gastronomy, international cooking, culinary history, reference books, and plenty of titles for both serious cooks and cookbook collectors. But this house didn't stop at the kitchen. There are also sewing and craft finds, sewing notions and supplies, decorative smalls, vintage tchotchkes, quirky curiosities, home décor, accessories, and plenty of those random little estate finds that are nearly impossible to search for but ridiculously fun to discover. If you're a reseller or booth owner, don't skip the smalls. If you're a cook, you may need a bigger kitchen.
